One Simpler Way to Share.
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati had the content. The challenge was getting it into the hands of parishes. Prior to 2025, the communications office was producing creative and timely content for its member parishes to distribute, but many of the parishes were not seeing it, while others weren’t consistently sharing it.

The Old Way
Prior to using Catholic Social Media, Taylor and her team were already creating impactful materials for parishes to use on their own social media accounts. They had great content, but delivering it to parishes was challenging.
The Archdiocese had graphic designers, photographers, and videographers all working together to post great pieces on the archdiocesan social media pages. When they wanted more Catholics to view that content, the team would share it in the parish communicators Facebook group they were running, to limited success.
The CSM Way
Catholic Social Media provides the archdiocesan communications team with a central location to send all the parish communicators. Taylor is able to upload social media content, including videos and carousels, into the calendar area to allow parishes access to schedule content weeks or months in advance. Since parish administrators can connect their social media accounts directly to CSM through its API, they can simply browse the content and click to schedule.
Additionally, the CSM platform provides a resources area that has replaced an old agency-hosted website that was limited by file sizes and included no scheduling tools. CSM is able to host all of the resources the Archdiocese wants its parishes to use: flyers, bulletin inserts, videos, handouts, instructions and so much more.
“Catholic Social Media has provided better communication to our parishes, more eyes to the content our teams have already been making, and ease for the communicators in our parishes, helping us spread truth, beauty, and goodness even farther.”
The Difference
Eliminating friction for parish communicators and administrators immediately made a difference. Whereas the old way saw many parishes either missing posts or opting not to use them, the new way has seen more than 80% of parishes utilizing the archdiocesan-provided content.
- 80%+ of weekly users are actively logging into CSM
- A large majority of Cincinnati parishes are actively using the platform
- More consistent posting among participating parishes
- Many parishes moved from infrequent posting to posting daily
- More archdiocesan content is being shared by parishes
- Growing parish analytics and engagement
- More time for parish communicators to engage their communities
The Impact
The Archdiocese gets more eyes on its content. Parishes have more content available to share. Parish communicators have more time to engage. And parishioners see more consistent communication. The Archdiocese didn’t change how it created content. It simply changed its distribution method and made the content easier for parishes to access and use.
Supporting Parishes
For Cincinnati, the value of Catholic Social Media goes beyond social media engagement. The Archdiocese has been focused on bringing parishes and parish families together and helping them become more effective in spreading the truth, goodness and beauty of the Catholic faith.
That means supporting the people who are doing the communication work at the parish and school level. The efficiency also shows up in parish and school budgets.
By providing parish staff with the tools and resources to do their jobs more efficiently, the Archdiocese is also gifting these parishes more time.
Why It Works
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has shown us that effective diocesan communication doesn’t necessarily require more content or more people. Sometimes, it simply requires removing the barriers between the content you already have and the people who need it. Catholic Social Media helps the Archdiocese do that by providing:
- Ready-to-use content connected to the liturgical year so parishes don’t have to start from scratch
- Simple scheduling tools that make posting easier
- A centralized resource library for campaign materials and downloadable assets
- Analytics that show which content is resonating with audiences
- More collaboration between archdiocesan departments
- More consistency across parish social media accounts
- More time for parish communicators to engage with their audiences
- Expert social media support when the Archdiocese or its parishes need help
Looking Ahead
For the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Catholic Social Media has become more than a way to distribute social media posts; it has become a resource for supporting parish communicators, coordinating content across departments, and extending the reach of work the Archdiocese is already doing.
