If you’re having a hard time keeping track of all the daily, weekly and monthly tasks required to keep your parish running smoothly, try using one of the many great software programs designed to help people stay organized in an increasingly busy world. Using task management systems can greatly increase your staff’s productivity. In addition to helping you remember that really important thing you just remembered you have to do, you can set recurring weekly and monthly tasks so that you never forget to run reports, submit paperwork or order supplies. All of the services listed below are easy-to-use and have apps so you can add a task from your smartphone – whenever and wherever you are.
- Asana (free, premium starts at $9.99/month): One of the most widely used task management systems, Asana lets you invite team members, create projects, use tags, and set recurring tasks at the free level. This is the program we here at PSG to manage our work tasks.
- Monday.com (starts at $8/month): A relative newcomer to the field, Monday.com features a more colorful, visual interface than Asana and lets managers track their employees’ progress on multiple projects.
- Teamweek (starts at $35/month): The Cadillac of task management, Teamweek is geared toward large, complex events such as parish festivals, but is helpful if you need to manage tasks for a large staff.
Each of these has its pros and cons, but after a little bit of experimenting using task management systems, you’ll find your staff becoming more productive and communicative. All to leave more time for ministry!
