How to Add a Batch of Gifts 

1. Go to Gifts > Overview > Add > Add a batch of gifts

2. Enter your batch description, expected number of gifts, and expected batch total

3. Select your template, if desired

4. Click Create Batch

5. Your new batch will open

6. If you did not select a template above, click Configure columns to select the columns you need and arrange them in your preferred order

7. Click + Add a gift and start typing

8. Once all gifts are added, click Save and review

9. Review your batch gifts for accuracy in the grid and click Approve

 

Congrats! You’ve entered your first High Speed Grid Batch.

Keep Your Hands on the Keyboard

High Speed Grid Batch is designed so your hands never need to leave the keyboard. You will not need old Database View keyboard shortcuts or your mouse in most cases. Tab and Space will move you through the appropriate fields efficiently.

Search by Name or Constituent ID

To select a constituent, type either the constituent name or the constituent ID. Once the correct donor is highlighted, press Tab to select and move to the next column.

Open the Full Record Without Leaving the Batch

If you need to update a donor record on the fly or review it for any reason, click the person icon (or use the space bar!) on the right side of the Constituent field. The full editable record will slide out on the right side of your screen.

Learn the Web View Terminology

Selecting from most tables works similarly to Database View. Begin typing the value you want and it will populate in the field.

Keep in mind that Web View uses updated terminology for table values. For example:

• One time instead of Cash
• Post to ledger instead of Not posted

Be sure to reference your terminology cheat sheet if you are still transitioning between views.

Use Flexible Date Entry Shortcuts

In date fields, you can still use familiar shortcuts.

To select a date in the current month, type just the day number and press Tab. For example, if today is 2/18/26 and you type 1 and press Tab, the system will populate 2/1/26.

The older six-digit shortcut, such as typing 123125 and tabbing to format it correctly, still works. It may look unusual at first, but it formats properly once you tab off the field.

You can also tab to the calendar icon and press Space to open the calendar selection tool. Choose the method that feels fastest to you.

Add Credits, Splits, and Custom Fields Through Configure Columns

If you need to add fundraiser credits, soft credits, splits, pledge schedules, or custom fields, you will not use the icons from Database View.

Instead, add those fields as columns through Configure columns. When you reach those columns during gift entry, press Space to open the selection box and use tab and shift+tab to move between fields and choose the appropriate options for each gift.

Delete Blank Rows Before Saving

If you tab past your last gift into a blank row and then click Save and review, you will receive an error.

Use the delete icon at the far right of the grid to remove the blank row before saving and approving the batch.
